LULUSAR LAKE
A Hidden Gem in the Northern Mountains of Pakistan
Pakistan is a land of diverse landscapes, from
the barren deserts of Balochistan to the snow-capped peaks of the Karakoram
range. One such marvel in the northern mountains of Pakistan is the Lulusar
Lake, a crystal clear lake situated at an altitude of 3,410 meters above sea
level.
The Lulusar Lake is located in the Kaghan
Valley of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, surrounded by the towering peaks of
the Himalayas. The lake is the source of the Kunhar River, which flows through
the valley and provides water to the surrounding areas.
The journey to Lulusar Lake is an adventure in
itself, as visitors have to travel through the winding roads of the Kaghan
Valley, passing through lush green forests, gushing streams, and breathtaking
mountain scenery. The road to the lake is not paved, which adds to the
adventure, and visitors are advised to travel in a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
The crystal clear waters of the lake,
surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, create a surreal
atmosphere that is hard to forget. Visitors can take a stroll around the lake,
sit by its banks, and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surrounding
nature.
The best time to visit Lulusar Lake is from
June to August, as the weather is pleasant, and the surrounding landscape is in
full bloom. Visitors are advised to bring warm clothes, as the temperature
drops significantly at night.
Lulusar Lake is not just a beautiful tourist
spot; it also has great religious significance. It is believed that a famous
Sufi saint, Shah Hussain Bukhari, once prayed at the lake, and his prayer was
answered when the lake's water changed from blue to green.
Lulusar Lake is a hidden gem in the northern mountains of Pakistan, a place of breathtaking beauty and religious significance. A visit to the lake is a must for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat amidst nature's splendor.
The journey to the lake may be
challenging, but the experience is rewarding, and the memories will last a
lifetime.
